My Brother the Torch Expert
When my brother was working in a steel shop he frequently used an acetylene torch to cut through steel. The flow meter, installed on the acetylene tank, would regulate the percentage of the oxygen and the acetylene to produce a very high temperature blue flame. He used the torch to cut pieces of steel into the required sizes, depending on the customer. It was good that my brother has a steady hand, because he had to cut precision straight with the torch. If the blue flame comes too close to the steel, you can hear a very loud and unpleasant pop sound.
