Quite often we’re put off starting a new company because of the expenses involved. I wanted to start a roofing company but was really put off with all the health and safety issues with working at height. Of course these are all necessary, but I felt daunted by the prospect of training my employees, ensuring safety on the job at all times and all the fall arrest equipment I had to purchase. This is all before we get down to the actual job of roofing!
But what gave me such a boost was a local company who had fall arrest systems for hire - this really saved a huge initial outlay for me. I then had enough funds to train up my 2 employees fully. Such a little thing can give the momentum a new company needs.
